Sunday Overnights: Significant Victory for Game 2 of The NBA Finals on ABC

Match-Up On Par with the Year-Ago Game 2 NBA Overnights

Ratings Breakdown:
It was all about game 2 of The NBA Finals (Golden State Warriors 122, Cleveland Cavaliers 103), which averaged an estimated 12.0 rating/21 share in the household overnights from 8-10:37 p.m. ET. Comparably, this was identical to the year-ago game two NBA match-up and that translated into significant 19.7 million viewers and a 7.1 rating/26 share in adults 18-49 (based on the Live+Same Day data from Nielsen).

ABC opened the night with another half-hour primetime edition of “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and capped it off with the NBA Post Game in the 10:30 p.m. half-hour.

Also original last night was freshman CBS drama “Instinct” (#2: 4.4/ 7 from 8-9 p.m.), which will be returning in midseason in 2017-18. At 7 p.m., the Eye net’s veteran “60 Minutes” (#1: 5.5/10) bested competing “Dateline” on NBC (#2: 2.6/ 5) by a considerable 69 percent.

Fox, meanwhile, featured the debut of Nat Geo’s “One Strange Rock,” hosted by Will Smith, which opened with a modest 0.9/ 2 in the household overnights in the 7 p.m. hour. “One Strange Rock” reveals the twists of faith that allow life to thrive on Earth.

What follows are the household overnight ratings for Sunday, June 3 broken out by half-hour:
