Sunday 4/04/21 Preliminary Primetime Ratings

Total Viewers:
CBS: 6.00 million; ABC: 4.59, NBC: 1.24, Fox: 774,000, CW: 402,000

Adults 18-49:
ABC: 0.6 rating/5 share, CBS: 0.5/ 4, NBC: 0.2/ 1, CW: 0.1/ 0

Granddaddy “60 Minutes” was the most-watched show of the evening with 7.27 million viewers (and a 0.5 rating/4 share in adults 18-49, which was tied with “America’s Funniest Home Videos” on ABC). That said, there was very little of positive note in the fast affiliate ratings on this first Sunday in April.

Tops for the night in adults 18-49 was ABC’s “American Idol”, with a 0.8/ 6 in the demo (and 5.31 million viewers) from 8-10 p.m. ET. Competing “The Equalizer” on CBS remained a competitive option in the 8 p.m. hour at 6.71 million viewers (#1) and a 0.6/ 5 (#2) in adults 18-49. That led into “NCIS: Los Angeles” (Viewers: #1, 5.46 million; A18-49: #2, 0.5/ 4) and soon-to-conclude “NCIS: New Orleans” (Viewers: #1, 4.55 million; A18-49: #2, 0.4/ 3) from 9-11 p.m.

At 10 p.m. on ABC was crime solver “The Rookie” at a typically modest 3.67 million viewers (#2) and a 0.5/ 4 (#1) in adults 18-49.

In the specials department (which was far from “special”, unfortunately) was Nat Geo documentary “Malika the Lion King”, narrated by Angela Bassett, on Fox at 910,000 viewers and a 0.2/ 1 in adults 18-49 from 8-10 p.m.

Elsewhere, NBC 8-10 p.m. combination of “Ellen’s Game of Games” (Viewers: #3, 1.65 million; A18-49: #3, 0.2/ 2) and “”Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist” (Viewers: #3, 1.17 million; A18-49: #3, 0.2/ 2) barely registered. And NBC’s “Good Girls” at 10 p.m., and The CW were in repeats.
