Syfy Orders ‘Tremors’ Revival Pilot

Kevin Bacon Will Reprise His Role as Valentine McKee

Syfy has given a pilot order for a TV adaptation from Universal Cable productions of the 1990 film “Tremors” starring Kevin Bacon. The film centered on a repairman (Bacon) and his friend who uncover several mysterious deaths in their small desert town of Perfection, Nevada, only to discover a group of giant, worm-like monsters who eat human flesh below the surface. The revival will take place 25 years after the monsters – dubbed “graboids” – first invaded the town of Perfection, Nevada, with Bacon as Valentine McKee once again forced to defeat the creatures despite “battling age, alcohol and a delusional hero complex.”

Andrew Miller (“The Secret Circle”) wrote the pilot, and will serve as showrunner if Syfy picks the series up. Kevin Bacon will also executive produce alongside David Schiff (“Southpaw”) and Blumhouse Television.
