Syfy Renews ‘Van Helsing’ for Season 3

Thirteen New Episodes Ordered

Syfy has picked-up action-horror series “Van Helsing” today for a third season with an order for 13 new episodes. Debuting on September 23, 2016, Kelly Overton stars as Vanessa, a descendant of Abraham Van Helsing who awakens from a three-year coma after her supposed death to find herself in a post-apocalyptic world. She has been protected by a Marine ordered to keep her — and the doctor who saved her — safe, so she can lead a resistance against the vampires that plague the world’s survivors.

The hour-long drama will wrap its current second season on Thursday, January and return next fall. Production on the new season is expected to begin in February 2018.

“Van Helsing” is produced by Nomadic Pictures. Executive producers are Chad Oakes and Mike Frislev from Nomadic Pictures, showrunner/writer Neil LaBute, Evan Tyler (Industry Works), Dave Brown and Zadoc Angell (Echo Lake Entertainment), as well as Daniel March (Dynamic Television). Dynamic Television is also handling the worldwide distribution for the series, excluding first run U.S. television and Canada. It also stars Missy Peregrym, Jonathan Scarfe, Christopher Heyerdahl, Vincent Gale, Rukiya Bernard, Trezzo Mahoro, Aleks Paunovic and Paul Johansson.
