Long-running syndicated daytime talk show “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” will officially end in 2022 after 19 season. The decision, which came from DeGeneres herself, claims she was no longer creatively challenged. “When you’re a creative person, you constantly need to be challenged – and as great as this show is, and as fun as it is, it’s just not a challenge anymore,” DeGeneres told The Hollywood Reporter.

Of course, last summer the show’s future came into question when the star’s toxic workplace scandal became public knowledge. As a results, more than one million viewers, on average, stopped watching the veteran talker this season. Also negatively impacted was DeGeneres’ primetime game show “Ellen’s Game of Games.”

DeGeneres said she informed staff of the decision on May 11 and will sit down with Oprah Winfrey to discuss her show ending on her May 13 show.
