TBS Orders Amy Hoggard Series and Sitcom ‘Chad’

The Untitled Hoggard Series Will Be Non-Political

TBS has greenlit an untitled series with Amy Hoggard, who is fresh off her duties as correspondent on “Full Frontal with Samantha Bee.” Blending scripted and unscripted segments, the non-political Untitled Amy Hoggart Project will tackle everyday problems through Hoggart’s unique kaledeiscope of humor.

The logline: Each week, wounded wannabe psychologist Hoggart, who will star in as well as write the series, will attack an issue that makes American lives harder. Completely underqualified, Hoggart will go to ridiculous lengths to tackle issues such as monogamy & polyamory, friendship, and shame – always aiming to make everyone feel just a little bit better.

TBS has also ordered 10 episodes of a single-camera comedy “Chad,”  which follows a 14-year-old pubescent Persian boy as he navigates his first year of high school on a mission to become popular. Chad’s friendships and sanity are pushed to the limits as he uses every tactic at his disposal to befriend the cool kids, while enduring his mother’s new dating life and reconciling with his cultural identity.

Nasim Pedrad, who stars and made her first made her mark on “Saturday Night Live” is also creator, writer, executive producer and co-showrunner on “Chad.” The Iranian-American actress is joined by co-stars Ella Mika, as Chad’s younger sister; Saba Homayoon, as Chad’s mother; Paul Chahidi, playing a distant relative; Jake Ryan, playing Chad’s best friend and Alexa Loo, playing a classmate.
