TBS Orders Comedy Variety Series ‘Stupid Pet Tricks’

10 Episodes Ordered; Sarah Silverman to Host

 

TBS has greenlit 10 half-hour episodes of “Stupid Pet Tricks”, hosted by Sarah Silverman, based on the the segment from “The Late Show with David Letterman.” THe logline: Each episode will feature a parade of pets performing the most ridiculous, impressive, and extraordinary tricks on a studio stage before a live audience, interweaving comedic bits along with games and surprise celebrity guest drop-ins, as pet parents join their furry friends in the quest to be crowned with the coveted title -Stupidest Trick of the Week.

“Stupid Pet Tricks” is being executive produced by Jay Blumenfield and Tony Marsh of The Jay & Tony Show (“Tournament of Laughs”) with Worldwide Pants (“The Late Show with David Letterman”) for TBS. David Letterman, Sarah Silverman and Amy Zvi are executive producers. Merrill Markoe serves as a consulting producer.

This marks the latest segment from a late-night show to be spun-off into a standalone series, joining TBS’ “Drop the Mic,” “Carpool Karaoke”, “Lip Sync Battle”, “Tooning Out the News” and the upcoming “That’s My Jam.”
