‘The Jennifer Hudson Show’ Renewed for Season Three

Emmy nominated syndicated daytime talker “The Jennifer Hudson Show” has been renewed for a third season by the Fox Television Stations and Hearst Television. Jennifer Hudson is now the youngest woman and the second African-American woman (following Whoopi Goldberg) to receive all four of the major American entertainment awards (commonly known as “EGOT”): Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony. She is the fifth female (after Helen Hayes, Rita Moreno, Audrey Hepburn, and Goldberg) to join the elite club. And, historically, Hudson is only the 17^th person to reach EGOT status. Now, of course, establishing herself as a long-term occupant in first-run syndication.

As a result of “The Jennifer Hudson Show” renewal, distributor Debmar-Mercury has decided not to move forward at present on its proposed hour of daytime talk with Ken Jeong. “We know Ken is an A+ talent deserving of an A+ line-up, and market conditions did not afford us an opportunity at this time. We will monitor the market for future Ken opportunities,” said a spokesman for Debmar-Mercury in a statement.
