The Television Critics Association Announces the 2020 TCA Award Nominations

HBO Leads With 16 Nominations

The Television Critics Association (TCA) announced the nominees for the organization’s 36th annual TCA Awards, which is an annual celebration of the best series, creators and stars of the 2019-2020 season. More than 200 professional television critics and journalists from the United States and Canada voted for programming showcased on broadcast, cable and streaming outlets, with categories honoring outstanding achievements in news and information, youth, reality, drama, comedy, miniseries, and sketch/variety shows.

HBO leads the pack with 16 nominations, following by 10 for Netflix, with HBO’s “Watchman” and Netflix drama “Unbelievable” leading all individual series with four nominations each. Other notable nominees include the Disney+ Epic “The Mandalorian,” ESPN’s “The Last Dance,” Hulu’s “Ramy,” HBO’s “A Black Lady Sketch Show,” FX on Hulu’s “Mrs. America,” and AMC’s “Better Call Saul”

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there will not be a formal in-person awards presentation. Winners will be announced later this summer.
