World Games Preview:
The World Games 2022 is returning to the USA after 40 years. The first show of TWG took place in the USA in Santa Clara, California. And the recent 11th edition of the game will take place in Birmingham, Alabama.
The game is scheduled to take place from July 7 to July 17. It was first set to take place in July 2021. But the cause of the Covid-19 pandemic situation Tokyo Olympics changed their date so does the World Games.
TWG contains so many sports, disciplines, and events. All the games of the tournament are very much entertaining and thrilling. The tournament mainly focused on and build on, based on those sports, disciplines and events that are not included in the Olympics Games.
This year’s total sum of 34 sports, 58 disciplines and 223 individual events will be held throughout the eleven-day program. It’s a combination of so many foreign sports like canoe polo, martial arts like Sumo and Wushu, billiards, extreme and more. The 2022 World Games included drone racing, canoe marathon, breakdancing, women’s fistball, kickboxing, and parkour for the time in their tournament. Racquetball was out of the tournament for some period and it’s back again for the first since 2013 TWG.
One of the best things about the tournament is that they host games for disabled persons alongside normal games. Wheelchair Rugby is one of the most famous events in The World Games. TWG’s wheelchair rugby is considered the most thrilling wheelchair rugby tournament. The world game also arranges training systems for disabled persons with the accommodation of the Olympic and Paralympic Federation.
There will be around 3600 best-selected athletes from all over the nation will gather around to participate in one of the world’s biggest tournaments. A total of 110 will send their athletes to the competition.
As per the 2021 statements, some selective Russian players could participate in the Olympics as well as in the World Games. But after Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022, the World Games banned all Russian and Belarusian players’ entry to the tournament. Initially, 62 athletes were qualified from Russia and 10 from Belarus.
Russia used to hold the most medal in World Games now the USA will lead the game.

The World Game 2022 is set to take place in Birmingham, Alabama, USA. Games of the tournament will be played in 30 different venues around Birmingham.

The World Games 2022 will air live on CBS and CBS Sports Network in the United States. They will show each and every event of the tournament on their channel including the opening ceremony and closing ceremony.
