Long-running “Beverly Hills, 90210” from Aaron Spelling concluded on Fox in 2000 with the wedding of David (Brian Austin Green) and Donna (Tori Spelling). In the summer of 2019, reboot “BH90210” with Jason PriestlyShannen Doherty, Jennie GarthTori Spelling, Ian ZieringGabrielle Carteris and Brian Austin Green could not find enough of an audience to make it into a second season…The one-hour series finale of NBC’s “Seinfeld” aired in 1998. A total of 76.3 million U.S. television viewers tuned into “The Finale”, which was the fourth most watched overall series finale in TV history behind “MASH”“Cheers” and “The Fugitive.” But it was not widely accepted by the critics. In a 2009 “Seinfeld” reunion on HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm”, Jerry made mention of already “screwing up one finale.”

News:
The first Tim Horton’s coffee and donut shop opened in Hamilton, Ontario by NHL player Tim Horton in 1964…In 1974, the Symbionese Liberation Army shoot-out with Los Angeles police killed six SLA members in the gunfire. It was one of the largest police shootouts in U.S. history, with more than 9,000 rounds fired.

Sports:
Two notable baseball feats in New York City: Willie Mays hit a game-winning solo home run in his New York Mets debut at the old Shea Stadium in Queens, NY in 1972, which defeated his former San Francisco Giants club 5-4; former Mets star Dwight “Doc” Gooden pitched a no-hitter for the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium in Bronx, NY in 1996, blanking the Seattle Mariners 2-0… In 2018, the Supreme Court struck down a federal law that had prohibited most states from authorizing sports betting, and thus, cleared the way for states to allow legalized sports gambling with the benefits of increased tourism and tax revenue.
