-Ratings Scorecard:
ABC and CBS shared overnight leadership on this uneventful Thursday, with two repeat episodes of “The Big Bang Theory” (8 p.m.: #1t: 5.5 rating/9 share; 9 p.m.: #2: 4.2/ 7) leading into two episodes of newbie sitcom “Fam.” The 8:30 p.m. edition of “Fam” scored a second-place 4.4/ 7 in households, which held 80 percent of the “Big Bang” audience; while the regularly scheduled 9:30 p.m. edition of “Fam” slipped to a 3.5/ 6 (#2). Comparably, that 3.5 household rating was 17 percent below the 4.2/ 7 one week earlier. In other words, this is not an improvement over recent time period occupant “Murphy Brown.”
Of positive note for ABC was relocated “A Million Little Things” (#2: 4.3/ 7 at 9 p.m.), which held 80 percent of the veteran “Grey’s Anatomy” (#1: 5.4/ 9 at 8 p.m.) lead-in. Comparably, this was equal to “Scandal” on the year-ago evening. In other words, it looks like ABC bought “A Million Little Things” a second season.
At 10 p.m., ABC’s “How to Get Away with Murder” could only muster a 2.2/ 4 in the household overnights (#3) despite facing encore telecasts of “S.W.A.T.” (#1: 3.0/ 6) and “Law & Order: SVU” on NBC (#2: 2.3/ 4).
In season finale news, the ongoing critical acclaim for NBC comedy “The Good Place” (#4: 1.9/ 3 at 9:30 p.m.) is enough to keep the sitcom alive. Lead-in “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” scored a modest 2.0/ 3 in households (#4) in the 9 p.m. half-hour. Earlier in the evening on NBC was “The Titan Games,” which remained an improvement over recent regularly sitcoms at a 3.0/ 5 in the 8 p.m. hour.
Elsewhere, both Fox and The CW had nothing unusual to report with its regularly scheduled Thursday line-up.
