Thursday Overnights: ‘Big Brother’ on CBS Tops Anemic Evening

Ratings Breakdown:
Needless to say, there is not much to analyze when the top-rated network, Fox, averages a 2.3 rating in the overnight households.

Once again, veteran “Big Brother” on CBS led this summer Thursday with a 2.6 rating/5 share at 9 p.m. Comparably, that increased from lead-in “Love Island” (#4: 1.7/ 4 at 8 p.m.) by 53 percent. But it was also 30 percent below the 3.7/ 7 on the year-ago evening And it led into a 2.0/ 4 (#2) for soon-to-conclude drama “Elementary” at 10 p.m., which bested competing ABC drama “Reef Break” (#3: 1.5/ 3) by 33 percent.

Earlier in the evening on the alphabet net were recent non-scripted entries “Holey Moley” (#2: 2.4/ 5) and “Family Food Fight” (#4: 1.4/ 3) from 8-10 p.m.
