NBC got some mileage in the Thursday 8 p.m. ET hour care of “Little Big Shots,” hosted by Steve Harvey, which moved into the time period with a 3.7 rating/7 share in the metered market households. In season-premiere news, two episodes of NBC sitcom “Marlon” could not compete. The 9 p.m. ET edition opened with a third-place 2.0/ 4, which trailed a repeat of “Mom” on CBS (3.6/ 6) by 44 percent and was 47 percent below the 8:30 p.m. portion of lead-in “Little Big Shots” (3.8/ 7). And the 9:30 p.m. edition dipped to a fourth-place 1.7/ 3.

Also original last night was Fox competition “The Four: Battle of Stardom,” which was singing the blues at a modest 1.7/ 3 in the household overnights from 8-10 p.m. The remainder of the evening were repeats.

  1. Despite being different (multi cam vs single cam), Young Sheldon just fits like a glove out of Big Bang. I do wonder how it will do on its own after Big Bang ends.

    • It definitely won’t be as high as on its own is my guess, I think it lives off of BBT. If YS was never based on BBT I could easily see it struggling and may be cancelled by this point.

      • Yeah, I think if it had just been a show developed as new, not a spin off, it would not have had the success. I like the show but not sure if I would have latched onto it if not for Big Bang.

  2. Marlon being thrown to the summer was straight disrespectful it should’ve aired behind Will & Grace instead of Great News I stand behind that to this day.
