Thursday Overnights: The Green Bay Packers Victory Over the Chicago Bears Ignites NBC

Ratings Breakdown:
Sunday Night Football on NBC, the Green Bay Packers at the Chicago Bears, opened the season with a hefty (and estimated) 14.5 rating/26 share in the household overnights in primetime (which included the NFL Kickoff). As always, results for any live sporting event are estimated. And, yes…NBC is poised for another solid season of Sunday Night Football this fall.

Elsewhere, two episodes of Fox game show “Spin the Wheel” concluded its season (or series run) with a modest 1.8/ 3 in households from 8-10 p.m. Personally, I would not be overly optimistic about a second season.

ABC was left at the starting gate care of “The LEGO Movie” at a mere 1.0/ 2 from 8-10 p.m. ET (which led into freshman summer drama “Reef Break” at a series low 1.3/ 3 at 10 p.m.).

On CBS, the live double eviction installment of the just renewed “Big Brother” was on the overnight map with a 3.3/ 6 in the 9 p.m. hour. The CW featured Thursday summer entries “The Outpost” (#5: 0.6/ 1 at 8 p.m.) and two episodes of “Two Sentence Horror Stories” (avg. 0.4/ 1 from 9-10 p.m.). And the remainder of the evening were repeat telecasts as follows:
