Television:
Game show “Family Feud” debuted on ABC in daytime in 1976…There were also two primetime drama premieres: “Northern Exposure” on CBS in 1990 and “Monk” on USA in 2002. For his role as Adrian Monk, Tony Shalhoub received eight consecutive Emmy nominations for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, resulting in three wins. A spin-off of “Monk” called “Little Monk” that dealt with the Monk brothers’ childhood aired for one season in 2009…Buddy cop-medical examiner comedy-drama “Rizzoli & Isles” premiered on TNT in 2010. The series that starred Angie HarmonSasha Alexander and Lorraine Bracco was one of cable’s biggest hits of the 2010’s. It ran for seven seasons…Two series launched in 2017: suspense drama “Salvation” on CBS and the Andrea Savage comedy “I’m Sorry” on truTV. Each lasted for two abbreviated seasons…Critically-acclaimed strop club drama “P-Valley” debuted on Starz in 2020.

Music:
In 1962, The Rolling Stones give their first public performance at the Marquee Club in London. The original band included singer Mick Jagger, guitarists Keith Richards and Brian Jones, bassist Dick Taylor, and drummer Mick Avory.

Sports:
“Disco Demolition Night” at Comiskey Park in 1979: The fans went wild destroying disco records and causing the White Sox to forfeit second game of a doubleheader to the Detroit Tigers.

There have been seven hosts, to-date, on the numerous editions of “Family Feud. The ABC network version of the show and the first syndicated series were hosted by Richard DawsonRay Combs hosted the CBS series and the first six seasons of the accompanying syndicated version, then was replaced by Dawson for the final season. The more recent syndicated versions have been hosted by Louie Anderson (1999–2002), Richard Karn (2002–06), John O’Hurley (2006–10), and Steve Harvey (2010–present). Harvey also emcees the primetime “Celebrity Family Feud” edition, as did Al Roker in 2008…In addition to “In The Heat of the Night”, Denise Nicholas is remembered for her role as Liz McIntyre on ABC half-hour dramedy “Room 222“, which aired from 1969 to 1974.
