Television:
The classic game show “The Newlywed Game, hosted by Bob Eubanks, premiered on ABC in 1966. On December 20, 1974, “The Newlywed Game” concluded its run as the second longest running game show on ABC. To-date, there have been five revivals (including the most recent on GSN, hosted by Sherri Shepherd)…“Law & Order: LA, the one spin-off from “Law & Order” that did not succeed, concluded its one season run on NBC in 2011.

Movies:
“Harry Potter” and the Order of the Phoenix”, the 5th film based on the books by  J.K. Rowling opened in theaters in 2007.

Music:
David Bowie released the single “Space Oddity” 9 days before Apollo 11 landed on the moon in 1969…Shaggy released his third studio album “Bombastic” in 1995. It won the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album.

Books:
“To Kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee was first published by J. B. Lippincott & Co. in 1960. The plot and characters were loosely based on Lee’s observations of her family, her neighbors and an event that occurred near her hometown of Monroeville, Alabama in 1936, when she was ten.

Celebrity Birthdays:
Fashion designer Giorgio Armani is 88; actress Lisa Rinna (“Melrose Place”) is 58; comedian John Henson is 54; “Grey’s Anatomy” star Justin Chambers is 51.

-Did You Know?:
The word “whoopie” was reportedly the most controversial word ABC would let Bob use when referring to sex, back when “The Newlywed Game” first premiered.
