Former “Dancing With the Stars” host Tom Bergeron has been named host of a revival of classic game show “Tic-Tac-Dough” for NBCUniversal. NBCUniversal is producing with former “Wheel of Fortune” and “Jeopardy!” executive producer Harry Friedman and Village Roadshow TV.

Based on tic-tac-toe, the original version of “Tic-Tac-Dough” aired on NBC in daytime from 1956 to 1959 with Jack Barry as host. Next was a revival on CBS and then in syndication from 1978 to 1986, followed by a syndicated run in 1990. Other hosts of “Tic-Tac-Dough” have included Gene Rayburn, Bill Wendell, Jay Jackson, Win Elliot and Wink Martindale. Contestants play basic tic-tac-toe by answering questions from various categories to put an X or an O on the board and add money to a pot which would go to the winner.
