Streaming services have been replacing cable TV around the world. More and more people are looking at the concept of “cutting the cord”- aka ditching the cable and only using streaming services. Initially, this was seen as a way to save some money by avoiding hefty cable charges but now there’s a new challenge of choosing the right streaming service for you. Before it really caught on Netflix was the platform that dominated the streaming subscription market, but recently with the launch launch Disney+ and Apple TV+, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu and many more, it’s hard to choose the right one. There are a lot of different factors to consider when choosing the right subscription. To make the choice easier we’ve combined the list of top sports streaming services and all the information you need to make the right decision.

Kayo

If you don’t’ want to spend too much money on Foxtel’s additional $29 Sports package, you’re better of ditching it completely and turning to Kayo instead. This is a Foxtel-owned, cheaper alternative for those who know they won’t get much use out of regular entertainment programs and want to focus on sports specifically. With Kayo you will get basic streaming service for $25 or you can pay $35 for the premium package with both options offering HD Streaming. If you decide to get a basic package you will be able to stream at two devices simultaneously but the premium offers three. Both options offer live and on-demand streaming of 50+ sports including NRL, AFL, cricket and motorsport.

NBA League Pass

This one is perfect for NBA fans, who can’t always catch their favorite team’s games. The lowest price point for this subscription is $109.99 annually and is called Game Choice. With this particular package, you will have access to eight games a month. The second option you have will cost you $169.99 annually. In this case, you will be able to select your favorite team and watch every single game from them, live or on-demand with five simultaneous streams available. You will only get access to NBA Playoffs and finals if your selected team makes the cut. The most expensive subscription will cost you $299.99. You will also be able to watch 4 NBA games at once.

AFL Live Pass

If basketball is not your thing and you prefer soccer then consider AFL subscription. In this case, you have an option for a weekly, monthly or yearly subscription. If you choose AFL Live Pass you can either pay $4.99 every seven days, $16.99 every month to $99.99 for the entire season. If you chose the yearly subscription you will have access to every single game throughout the season including the finals.

If you are a Telstra customer then you’re in luck because you will receive access for free as a part of their mobile plan and you will be able to stream data-free. The pass will let you watch matches using your mobile device, but you can’t stream it on your tv because the app blocks it.

Optus Sport

This subscription is great for those who follow international soccer. It’s well-known that soccer is one of the most popular sports in Australia. Optus Sport gives an access to international soccer from the English Premier League, FIFA Women’s Wolrd Cup, UEFA Champions League, and UEFA Europa League. If you already are an Optus customer then you will be granted free access to the streaming service on select plans, but for everyone else, the service costs $14.99 per month. You can watch on mobile, tablet, laptop or PC and can be broadcast to your tv.

UFC Fight Pass

You will have access to UFC content on ESPN if you get Foxtel or Kayo, you can even order pay-per-view events but if you would rather have the ultimate combat sports streaming service then this should definitely be your choice. You will have an option to join a six or 12-month contract that will cost you $8.99 or $7.99 accordingly.

You can get access to UFC Fight Pass for $9.99 per month and you get 2 simultaneous streams. The service includes unrestricted access to international UFC Fight Nights along with early preliminary sports promotions around the globe.
