Travel Channel Orders Reboot of ‘Ripley’s Believe it or Not’

Travel Channel is rebooting “Ripley’s Believe it or Not,” this time hosted by actor Bruce Campbell (“Evil Dead,” “Burn Notice”), with 10 all-new, one-hour episodes that will showcase the most astonishing, real and one-of-a-kind stories. Currently in production and slated to debut next summer, the series will be shot on location at the Ripley Warehouse in Orlando, Florida, and will incorporate incredible stories from all parts of the globe.
 
“Ripley’s Believe It or Not! initially aired on NBC in 1949 with Robert Ripley as host. A second version began on ABC in 1982 with Jack Palance as host. And the most recent, on The WB in 2001, was hosted by Dean Cain. Documentary “The Incredible Life and Times or Robert Ripley, Believe It Or Not!” was telecast on TBS in 1993, and an animated version, chronicling the adventures of Robert Ripley and his friends, aired on Fox Family Channel in 1999 (followed by another live version on TBS).

“Ripley’s Believe It or Not!” is produced by Texas Crew Productions for Travel Channel. For Texas Crew Productions the executive producers are Brad Bernstein, David Karabinas, Ron Bowman and Bruce Campbell. For Travel Channel, the executive producer is Daniel A. Schwartz, Jane Latman is general manager and Henry Schleiff is group president of Investigation Discovery, Travel Channel, American Heroes Channel and Destination America.
