Tuesday Final Nationals: Florida-LSU on ESPN Registers Best College World Series Game 2 Audience in Five Years

NBC ruled Tuesday night by all key figures, including in total viewers (10.74 million).

NBC also not only led in all demos but posted better adults 18-49, adults 18-34 and adults 25-54 than ABC, CBS and Fox combined.

The Florida Gators’ first-ever college baseball national championship in the “2017 Men’s College World Series” provided ratings gains and dividends for ESPN. For Game 2, it had a total audience delivery (factoring TV and streaming) of 2.067 million viewers, up 29 percent from 2016. It was the most-watched CWS Game 2 since 2012. Despite LSU’s defeat, ESPN reported that the New Orleans market earned a 20.1 rating for the game, a higher rating than every regular season college football game on ESPN in 2016 with the exception of Ole Miss-LSU.
