Tuesday Final Ratings: Cavaliers-Celtics on ESPN is Most-Viewed Second Game of an NBA Eastern Conference Finals in 6 Years

Delivering a 5.1 U.S. household rating and 8.229 million viewers, ESPN’s telecast of Boston Celtics’ 107-94 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers is the highest-rated, most-watched NBA Eastern Conference Finals Game 2 on any network since the Celtics visited the LeBron-led Miami Heat on ESPN from May 30, 2012 (5.7 household rating, 8.809 million viewers).

From 8-11 p.m., ESPN was television’s top network among adults 18-49 (approx. 2.9 rating), adults 18-34 (approx. 2.6 rating), adults 25-54 (approx. 3.0 rating), males 18-49 (approx. 4.2 rating), males 18-34 (approx. 3.8 rating), and males 25-54 (approx. 4.3 rating).

In the Boston market, the game generated a 16.0 rating, making it the highest-rated NBA game on ESPN in the market since the 2012 Eastern Conference Finals. In Cleveland, the telecast generated a 24.4 rating. The rest of the top five markets included Columbus (11.4), Providence (10.9) and San Francisco (9.0).
