Tuesday Overnights: ‘America’s Got Talent’ Leads NBC to More Victory

Ratings Breakdown:
NBC, as always, led the Tuesday summer overnight troops care of “America’s Got Talent,” which scored a 6.9 rating/12 share in households from 8-10 p.m. While competing “Bachelor in Paradise” on ABC trailed with a 3.3/ 6, comparably the gap between the two shows in household rating was 52 percent last night versus 63 percent on the year-ago evening.

Despite the ample lead-in support, NBC’s freshman competition series “Making It,” hosted by Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman, did not live up to its title with a 2.3/ 5 (#2) in the 10 p.m. hour. Even so, that was still 35 percent above competing “Castways” on ABC (#3: 1.7/ 3).

The only other original programming option last night was CW drama “The Outpost” at a modest 0.5/ 1 in the household overnights (#5) at 9 p.m.
