-Ratings Breakdown:
CBS topped this first Tuesday in November in the household overnights care of its combination of “NCIS” (#1 for the night: 8.5 rating/14 share), sophomore “Bull” (#1: 6.9/11) and “NCIS: New Orleans” (#1: 6.0/11). “Bull” inched past NBC’s competing “This Is Us” (#2: 6.8/11) by one-tenth of a household rating point. But “This Is Us” will hold a significant advantage in adults 18-49 (and all the key demo groups), and will easily lift NBC to victory for the night.

“This Is Us,” additionally, increased from solid lead-in “The Voice” (#2: 6.0/10 at 8 p.m.) by 13 percent in the household overnights. Lead-out “Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Brothers,” however, slipped by 60 percent with a 2.7/ 5 at 10 p.m. Returning “Chicago Med” will inherit the Tuesday 10 p.m. hour on NBC effective on Nov. 21.

ABC, unfortunately, is just is not resonating on Tuesday following “The Middle” (#3: 3.8/ 6), which will produce two additional episodes in this final ninth season (taking the total to 24). Next was “Fresh Off the Boat” at a fourth-place 2.5/ 4 at 8:30 p.m., which dropped by 34 percent from “The Middle,” followed by the modest 9-11 p.m. combination of “black-ish” (#3: 2.7/ 4), “The Mayor” (#3: 1.8/ 3) and “Kevin (Probably) Saves the World” (#3: 2.0/ 4).

If ABC wants to improve its status on Tuesday, it should open the night with the revival of “Roseanne” at 8 p.m. into “The Middle.” “Fresh Off the Boat” could be moved to Tuesday at 9:30 p.m. if the network decides to cancel failing “The Mayor” in midseason.

Elsewhere, Fox had nothing unusual to report with its line-up of “Lethal Weapon” (#4: 2.8/ 4 at 8 p.m.), “The Mick” (#4: 1.5/ 2 at 9 p.m.) and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” (#4: 1.3/ 2 at 9:30 p.m.). Fox has just ordered seven additional episodes of “The Mick,” bringing the total order in this second season to 20. And The CW featured “The Flash” (#5: 1.9/ 3), which remains the network’s highest rated series, and “D.C.’s Legends of Tomorrow” (#5: 1.0/ 2).
