Ratings Analysis:
It was a clean household overnight sweep for NBC care of the season premiere installments of summer favorite “America’s Got Talent” (7.4 rating/13 share from 8-10 p.m.) and sophomore “World of Dance” (4.6/ 8 at 10 p.m.). Comparably, “America’s Got Talent,” an immediate addiction, slipped by only six percent in household from its stellar year-ago opener (7.9/13 on 5/30/17). And “World of Dance” was down by a more significant 29 percent from the 6.5/12 series debut on the year ago evening. One episode into its 13th season and “America’s Got Talent” is a lock for another season of summer dominance.

Also opening their seasons were Fox game shows “Beat Shazam!” (#4: 2.0/ 3 at 8 p.m.) and “Love Connection” (#4: 1.6/ 3 at 9 p.m.), which could not compare.

Other than “48 Hours” NCIS” on CBS (#2: 3.1/ 5 at 10 p.m.), the remainder of the evening was repeats (with ABC pulling “Roseanne” for another episode of “The Middle”).
