TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 20, 2018

Household Rating/Share
CBS: 6.2/11, NBC: 5.1/ 9, ABC: 3.1/ 5, Fox and The CW: 1.1/ 2 each

-Percent Change From the Year-Ago Evening:
CBS: – 2, NBC: – 4, CW: -15, ABC: -40, Fox: -45

Ratings Breakdown:
CBS topped this third Wednesday in November in the household overnights care of its combination of dramas “NCIS” (#1 for the night: 7.8 rating/13 share at 8 p.m.), “FBI” (#1: 5.9/10) and “NCIS: New Orleans” (#1: 4.9/ 9). But NBC is the network to beat in adults 18-49 (and all the key demo groups) thanks to “The Voice” (#: 5.4/10 at 8 p.m.), “This is Us” (#2: 5.8/10 at 9 p.m.), which will be the top draw in the demos, and freshman drama “New Amsterdam” (#2: 4.0/ 8 at 10 p.m.).

On ABC, “The Conners” remained consistent at a healthy 5.0/ 9 (#3), which was 28 percent above the 3.9/ 7 for year-ago time period occupant “The Middle.” At this point, the novelty has worn off and you can consider “The Conners” the real deal.

Recent ABC entry “The Kids Are Alright,” which is happily reminiscent of “The Wonder Years,” slipped to a 3.0/ 5 at 8:30 p.m., which was 40 percent below “The Conners.” Note to the writers of “The Kids Alright”: If last night’s episode was set in the summer of 1972 as mentioned, it made no sense to make reference to John-Boy. John-Boy, of course, was played by Richard Thomas on “The Waltons,” and that family drama did not debut until September 14, 1972.

Also on ABC was the low-rated 9-11 p.m. combination of sitcoms “black-ish” (#3: 2.6/ 4) and “Splitting Up Together” (#3: 2.1/ 4) and freshman drama “The Rookie” (#3: 3.0/ 5).

The CW featured “The Flash” (#4: 1.4/ 2 at 8 p.m.) into “Black Lightning” (#5: 0.8/ 1 at 9 p.m.) and Fox was in repeats.
