Tuesday 3/16/21 Preliminary Ratings

Total Viewers:
CBS: 7.88 million, NBC: 3.62, ABC: 2,24, Fox: 1.23, CW: 1.09

Adults 18-49:
CBS: 0.7 rating/5 share, NBC: 0.6/ 4, ABC and Fox: 0.3/ 2 each, CW: 0.2/ 1

Led by veteran “NCIS” (Viewers: #1 for the night: 9.54 million; A18-49: #1, 0.8 rating/5 share at 8 p.m. ET), dominant CBS had more than double the number of viewers than No. 2 NBC. But, let’s face it…under 8-million viewers, on average, for the Eye net based on these preliminary ratings is well below recent nightly levels.

Also rapidly falling is NBC’s once unstoppable “This Is Us”, which at 4.80 million viewers (#2) and a 0.8/ 5 in the demo (#1) at 9 p.m. is a shell of its former self. Not helping was the lack lead-in support from recent sitcom entry “Kenan” (Viewers: #3, 2.09 million; A18-49: #3, 0.4/ 3 at 8:30 p.m.). “Young Rock” remains the more promising of the two NBC Tuesday comedies with 2.89 million viewers (#3) and a 0.6/ 4 in adults 18-49 (#2) in the 8 p.m. half-hour.

In series premiere news was Canadian home make improvement series “Holmes Family Effect” on Fox at a scarce 1.23 million viewers (#4) and a 0.3/ 2 in adults 18-49 (#3t) from 8-10 p.m.

Elsewhere, ABC’s “To Tell the Truth” (Viewers: #2, 3.66 million; A18-49: #2t, 0.5/ 3 at 8 p.m.) remains a “Band-aid” (translation: temporary) programming maneuver. The alphabet net docuseries “Soul of a Nation” (Viewers: 1.35 million; A18-49: 0.2/ 2) remains the No. 3 Tuesday 10 p.m. occupant. And the CW’s “Superman & Lois” (Viewers: #5, 1.19 million; A18-49: #4t, 0.2/ 1 at 9 p.m.) continues to build in audience from lead-in “The Flash” (Viewers: #5, 1.02 million; A18-49: #4t, 0.2/ 1 at 8 p.m.).
