ABC's 'The Conners' is Now the Highest Rated Sitcom in Primetime; Modest Return for 'Arrow' on The CW

    “This Is Us” (1.5 rating in 18-49, 6.7 million viewers overall from 9-10:01 p.m. ET):

    Is the #1 show of the night on the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49, as well as adults 25-54 and nearly all other key demographics.

    Dominates the 9-10 p.m. hour among the Big 4 networks, beating the #2 show in adults 18-49 by +67% (1.5 vs. 0.9 for CBS’ “FBI”).

    Wins the timeslot among those networks in every other key demographic.

    DELAYED VIEWING / DIGITAL / SOCIAL:

    Last season, “This Is Us” reached more than 63 million viewers.

    LIVE PLUS SEVEN DAYS: Week 2 of “TIU” grew in 18-49 by +1.42 rating points (from a 1.68 in L+SD Nielsens to a 3.10 in L+7), giving the season’s first two episodes of “Us” television’s two biggest L+7 lifts in the key demo so far this season (+1.51 for Premiere Week and +1.42 for Week 2, keeping “TIU” #1 among all scripted series for both weeks).

    LIVE PLUS THREE DAYS: So far this season, three episodes of “TIU” have delivered television’s three biggest 18-49 lifts, +1.08 for the Oct. 8 episode, +1.05 for the Oct. 1 telecast and +1.11 for the Sept. 24 season premiere.

    NCIS won its hour by +40% (10.61m versus 7.59m) over “The Voice.” In live + 7 day projections (below), NCIS should reach 14 million viewers.

    At 9:00 pm, FBI (8.71m) beat “This Is Us” on NBC by +2 million viewers (versus 6.71m, +30%). FBI is expected to hit 11.85 million viewers in live + 7 day viewing.

    At 10:00 pm, NCIS: NEW ORLEANS beat its nearest competition in viewers (6.62m versus 4.98m, +33%). In live + 7 day projections, NCIS: NOLA will end up reaching over 10 million viewers.

    Last night CBS averaged 8.65 million viewers and was Tuesday’s most-watched network by +2.23 million viewers (+35%) over its nearest competitor (versus 6.42m).

  3. Wow, if those ratings make “The Conners” the top sitcom in primetime, it sure doesn’t say much about the current slate of network sitcoms. Young Sheldon doesn’t have a bigger audience? That doesn’t feel right to me.

    Saw your comment about Emergence (I gave it up in episode 2) but it’s growth in +7 was pretty impressive. Doesn’t that get taken into account?
