In series-premiere news, Fox competition series “Real Dirty Dancing” was left at the Tuesday starting gate (or, perhaps, left in the corner) at a mere 1.49 million viewers (#4) and a 0.2 rating/2 share in adults 18-49 (#4) in the Tuesday 9 p.m. ET hour. Really? Another series inspired from the 1987 movie?
“Real Dirty Dancing” delivered half the adult 18-49 rating than lead-in medical drama “The Resident” (0.4/ 3 at 8 p.m.), which was notably heftier in total viewers with 3.23 million.
CBS scored an easy Tuesday night victory care of the “FBI” franchise: “FBI” (Viewers: #1 for the night: 7.34 million; A18-49: #1t, 0.6 rating/5 share at 8 p.m.), “FBI: International” (Viewers: #1, 6.06 million; A18-49: #2, 0.6/ 4 at 9 p.m.) and “FBI: Most Wanted” (Viewers: #1, 5.74 million; A18-49: #1, 0.5/ 4 at 10 p.m.).
Tops for the evening in adults 18-49 was NBC’s soon-to-conclude “This Is Us”, with a 0.8/ 6 in the demo (and a second place 4.43 million viewers in the Tuesday 9 p.m. ET hour). While this certainly pales in comparison to its heyday, there was minimal lead-in support from freshman comedies “American Auto” (Viewers: #4, 1.94 million viewers; A18-49: #4, 0.3/ 3 at 8 p.m.) and “Grand Crew” (Viewers” #4, 1.36 million; A18-49: #4, 0.3/ 2 at 8:30 p.m.).
Capping off the night for NBC was game show “The Wall” (Viewers: #2, 1.82 million; A18-49: #2, 0.3/ 2 at 10 p.m.), which was a considerable drop from regularly scheduled time period occupant “New Amsterdam.”
On ABC, recent entry “Judge Steve Harvey”, a comical take on the court show genre, remains the real deal at 3.84 million viewers (#2) and a 0.6/ 4 in adults 18-49 (#1t) in the 8 p.m. hour. Count on a second season renewal for this show and freshman lead-out comedy “Abbott Elementary” (Viewers: #3, 2.64 million; A18-49: #3, 0.5/ 4 at 9 p.m.), which the critics have also embraced.
Next on ABC was soon-to-end “black-ish” (Viewers: #3, 1.86 million; A18-49: #3, 0.4/ 3 at 9:30 p.m.), followed by repeats of “Abbott Elementary” and another episode of “black-ish” in the 10 p.m. hour.
Over at The CW, “Superman & Lois” (Viewers: #5, 808,000; A18-49: #5, 0.1/ 1 at 8 p.m.) remains the net’s most-watched regularly scheduled series. And it led into recent superhero entry “Naomi” at 521,000 viewers (#5) and also a 0.1/ 1 in the demo (#1).
