TV Land has ordered a pilot for what could be its first anthology series, “Heathers.” Based on the 1988 cult classic theatrical, “Heathers” will be set in present day with the heroine dealing with a very different but equally vicious group of Heathers. The script is written by Jason Micallef (“Butter”), and Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi will executive produce for Lakeshore Entertainment. No casting has been announced yet.

The pilot script order for “Heathers” comes on the heels of several development announcements at TV Land, including an untitled pilot based on the life of Kyle Richards and a pilot order for an adaptation of 1996 theatrical “The First Wives Club.” The network also renewed “Teachers” for a 20-episode second season and struck an overall development deal with Darren Star, the creator of the critically-acclaimed show “Younger,” which has its second season finale on Wednesday, March 23rd at 10 p.m. ET.
