  1. Yes, indeed! The Winter Olympics are losing steam – they are cooling off – lol! It may be just me, but, I really don’t have much interest in these games and have only watched sporadically.

  2. Competition wins covered in real time on the web and other outlets prior to the prime time coverage with the unavoidable tape delays, so much inane commentator banter and a gazillion breaks for commercials, make it a slog to get through 2 weeks of Olympics–and this is coming from someone who lives and breathes sports. Highlight reels are the only Olympic viewing for me. Sorry NBC, NOT must-see-TV!.

  3. I have enjoyed the Olympics maybe has to do that the USA isn’t doing very well in wining medals although USA isn’t good in Winter compare to the Summer Olympics.

    • Me too I like the unpredictability this year too and I like it that the USA is not dominating either so you’re just like me on that end but for me personally root for a lot of different countries like Canada and stuff and certain international athletes so I don’t need the US to be successful to complete my Olympic experience. That’s very true too about the USA being more dominant in the Summer than Winter Olympics but I think this year they’ve been more underwhelming than usual as the US have had to settle for the bronze medal crazy style this year.

  4. I think the Olympics are actually gaining steam and it’s widely noticeable in the 9pm hour as that was a pretty strong performance for the 2nd week of the games although I know west coast figure skating was factored into that but these are some pretty strong numbers. I’ve noticed that the winter’s second week is much stronger than the summer’s second week as you notice some real steep declines in the summer than the winter.

  5. This was one of the best rated night for these Olympic games as anytime the ratings can hit anywhere near 20 million viewers or over it at any given point during the 2nd week is a huge victory for the Olympics and NBC. I would say this year’s ratings have been more successful despite being lower because they’ve done a lot better than they should’ve to be honest.
