    NBC FINISHES WITHIN 0.1 OF THE NIGHTLONG WIN IN 18-49 DESPITE AIRING AN 8 P.M. ENCORE VS. ALL ORIGINALS ON THE COMPETING BIG 4 NETS

    Wednesday Primetime Results:

    For the night, NBC finishes within 0.1 of a point of first place in adults 18-49 (with a 1.2 average vs. Fox’s 1.3), despite NBC’s encore programming in the 8 p.m. hour versus all original programming on the other Big 4 networks.

    “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” (1.4/5 in 18-49, 6.3 million viewers overall from 9-10 p.m. ET):

    · Locks up its highest rating since Jan. 17 in 18-49 (1.4) and equals the “SVU” high since Nov. 29 (1.5), while delivering the show’s most-watched episode since Feb. 7 (6.6 million).

    · Increases by +8% week to week in 18-49 (1.4 vs. 1.3) and +3% in total viewers (6.337 million vs. 6.129 million).

    · Ties for #2 for the 9 p.m. hour among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49.

    · Builds by +75% on its lead-in in adults 18-49.

    · Will add substantial viewership via time-shifting and VOD — “SVU” has grown by +74% this season in 18-49 rating going from L+SD to L+7 (from a 1.28 to a 2.23) and more than +2.9 million viewers overall (5.9 million to 8.9 million). When projected 35-day non-linear viewing is included, the “SVU” 18-49 rating increases to a 3.44.

    “Chicago P.D.” (1.3/5 in 18-49, 7.0 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET):

    · Captures its highest 18-49 rating since Jan. 17 (1.4) and its top total-viewer result since Feb. 7 (7.2 million).

    · Wins the timeslot among the ABC-CBS-NBC dramas in adults 18-49, adults 25-54, total viewers and every other key measure, including a +44% margin of victory in adult 18-49 rating (1.3 vs. 0.9 for CBS’ #2 “Criminal Minds”) and +1.8 million persons or +34% in total viewers (6.991 million vs. 5.216 million for “Criminal Minds”).

    · Grows +8% week to week in 18-49 (1.3 vs. 1.2) and +7% in total viewers (6.991 million vs. 6.539 million).

    · Has now won the slot or tied for #1 versus regular ABC and CBS competition with its last 34 straight original telecasts in adults 18-49 (L+SD), extending back to October 2016.

    · Will add significant viewership via time-shifting and VOD — “Chicago P.D.” is increasing by +88% in 18-49 rating this season going from L+SD to L+7 (from a 1.20 to a 2.26) and +4.1 million viewers overall (6.4 million to 10.5 million). With the addition of projected 35-day non-linear ratings, the “P.D.” figure grows to a 2.98.

    An 8 p.m. rebroadcast of “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” (0.8/3 in 18-49, 4.8 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET):

    · Jumped by +19% versus its previous encore in this timeslot in total viewers (4.784 million vs. 4.010 million on Jan. 24).

    In Late-Night Metered Markets Wednesday Night:

    · In Nielsen’s 56 metered markets, household results were: “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” 2.0/5; “Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” 2.6/7; and ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” 1.7/5.

    · In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” 0.6/3; “Late Show,” 0.5/3; and “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” 0.4/3.

    · From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC’s “Nightline” averaged a 1.2/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

    · From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” 1.2/4 in metered-market households; CBS’s “Late Late Show,” 1.2/4. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: “Late Night,” 0.3/3 in 18-49; “Late Late Show,” 0.3/2.

    · At 1:35 a.m., “Last Call with Carson Daly” averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.

    ABC Wednesday Prime (8-11pm – 4.8 million and 1.2/5 in AD18-49): ABC saw all 5 of its Wednesday series add viewers over their most recent originals, while the season finale of Speechless closed out on a high note with a 44% spike in Adults 18-49 and year to year growth. ABC ranked #2 on the night in Adults 18-49 (1.2/5 – 3-way tie), just 1-tenth behind Fox with the season finale of 9-1-1 (1.3/5).

    · At 8pm, The Goldbergs came back from its week-ago preemption with a gain in Total Viewers (+4% – 5.8 million vs. 5.6 million) and held even with Adults 18-49 (1.5/7).

    · At 8:30pm, ABC’s season finale of Speechless grew by strong double digits week to week in viewers (+31% – 4.6 million vs. 3.5 million) and young adults (+44% – 1.3/5 vs. 0.9/4), scoring 9-week highs on both measures – since 1/17/18. Speechless topped its year-ago May finale by 2% in viewers and by 8% in young adults (4.5 million and 1.2/5 on 5/17/17).

    At 9pm, Modern Family improved over its last original two weeks ago by 8% in Total Viewers (5.6 million vs. 5.2 million) and 14% in Adults 18-49 (1.6/6 vs. 1.4/5).

    · In the 9:30pm half-hour, ABC’s American Housewife grew by 21% over the prior week in viewers (4.5 million vs. 3.7 million) and by 30% in young adults (1.3/5 vs. 1.0/4), marking its best results in the slot in over 2 months – since 1/17/18.

    · In the 10 o’clock hour, ABC’s Designated Survivor built week to week by 8% in Total Viewers (4.0 million vs. 3.7 million) and held even in Adults 18-49 (0.7/3), drawing its most watched telecast of 2018. ABC’s Designated Survivor remains the season’s #1 broadcast series in delayed viewing, as the ABC sophomore drama shoots up +113% in Total Viewers and +125% in Adults 18-49 from L+SD to L+7.

    · SURVIVOR: GHOST ISLAND continues its powerful run on Wednesdays and was the night’s #1 program for the fourth consecutive week in viewers (8.52m), adults 25-54 (2.5) and adults 18-49 (1.7, tie) while winning its hour in viewers by +63% over its nearest competition (versus 5.24m), adults 25-54 by +32% (versus 1.9) and adults 18-49 by +21% (versus 1.4).

    · At 9:00 PM, SEAL TEAM was second in viewers (6.47m), up +6% from its last first run episode on March 7th (from 6.07m), +15% in adults 25-54 (1.5 from 1.3) and +11% in adults 18-49 (1.0 from 0.9).

    · At 10:00 PM, CRIMINAL MINDS also finished second in viewers (5.22m), adults 25-54 (1.3) and adults 18-49 (0.9), even with last week in key demo delivery.

    · For the night, CBS was first in viewers (beating its nearest competition by +11%, 6.73m versus 6.04m) and adults 25-54 (1.7), while finishing second in adults 18-49 (1.2, tie, -0.1 behind FOX).
