USA Network has opted against news season of dramas “The Purge” and “Treadstone.” “The Purge” aired for two seasons and “Treadstone” just one. Debuting on September 4, 2018 and based on the movie franchise of the same name, horror anthology “The Purge” revolved around an alternate dystopian United States ruled by a totalitarian government that sanctions a 12-hour period which legalizes all crimes, including vandalism, theft, arson, and murder. Twenty episodes in total were produced.
“Treadstone” launched on September 24, 2019 and was based on the “Bourne” film series. It explored the origin story and present-day actions of a fictional CIA black-ops program known as Operation Treadstone — a covert program that uses a behavior-modification protocol to turn recruits into nearly-superhuman assassins. The series, which produced 10 episodes, followed sleeper agents across the globe as they’re mysteriously ‘awakened’ to resume their deadly missions
“The Purge” and “Treadstone” join drama “Dare Me,” which was recently also canceled by USA after one season.
