USA Network Renews Drama ‘Queen of the South’ for Season 4

Number of New Episodes Ordered Not Confirmed

USA Network has greenlit drama “Queen of the South” for a fourth season, with an unconfirmed number of new episodes for 2019. Debuting on June 23, 2016, “Queen of the South” is an adaptation of the telenovela “La Reina del Sur” (which in turn is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Spanish author Arturo Perez-Reverte.

A co-production from Fox 21 Television Studios and Universal Cable Productions (UCP), “Queen of the South” tells the story of Teresa Mendoza (Sonia Braga), a woman who is forced to run from the Mexican cartel and seek refuge in America. In season 3, Teresa strikes out on her own, determined to build a new empire for herself. But as enemies old and new close in, she realizes that being Queen will require more work — and more sacrifice — than she ever imagined.

The third season finale of “Queen of the South” aired on September 13.
