USA Renews Drama ‘The Sinner’ for Season Two

Bill Pullman Returns as Detective Harry Ambrose

USA has greenlit a second eight-episode season of limited drama “The Sinner,” starring Bill Pullman. Originally a six-part miniseries, “The Sinner” continue as an anthology that follows Bill Pullman’s Detective Harry Ambrose as he explores a new crime. In season two, Ambrose will travel to his hometown in upstate New York where he will investigate the murder of two people by their 11-year-old son.

Jessica Biel, who starred alongside Pullman, will return as an executive producer with her Iron Ocean partner Michelle Purple, having also served in the same role for the initial run of the show. Derek Simonds will again serve as showrunner and executive produce. Charlie Gogolak and Brad Winters will also exec produce.

The first installment of “The Sinner,” which starred Biel as a young mother who murdered a man in public, was nominated for two Golden Globes — Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series, for Biel, and Best Television Limited Series.
