Fox topped Wednesday with the 11-inning Game 2 of MLB’s “2017 World Series” between the Houston Astros and the Los Angeles Dodgers. Averaging 15.483 million viewers from 8:13 p.m.-12:36 a.m. ET, it was down 11 percent from last year’s Cubs-Indians (17.4 million; best mark since 2009) but up 13 percent from Mets-Royals in 2015 (13.72 million) and up 20 percent from Giants-Royals in 2014 (12.92 million). It’s the second best viewer mark for a World Series Game 2 since Phillies-Yankees in 2009 (18.9 million).
At an 9.2 household rating and 18 share, Game 2 was also the second best in ratings in eight years, since the aforementioned Phillies-Yankees in 2009 (11.7/19). Only Cubs-Indians last year (10.2/18) had rated higher within that span.
