Wednesday Final Nationals: ‘The Story of Diana’ Posts ABC’s 8-Year Summer-High in Time Slot for Non-Sports Programs

A two-hour clips special of “America’s Got Talent” helped NBC attain the Wednesday night crowns for total viewers (5.54 million), adults 18-49 (1.1 rating/5 share), and adults 25-54 (1.5/5).

With “Big Brother 19”, CBS won among adults 18-34 (0.7/4).

Part one of the two-part ABC special “The Story of Diana”, marking the 20th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death, drew 5.43 million viewers, which delivered ABC’s biggest overall non-sports oriented summertime audience in the Wednesday 9-11 p.m. slot since June 10, 2009. This is the second Princess Diana retrospective on ABC this year — “The Last Days of Diana” was its first, back on May 7 that had drawn 6.5 million viewers.

Prime time half-hour breakdowns for “The Story of Diana-Part One” in household rating/share and total viewers (adults 18-34, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 rating/share), were as follows:
