Wednesday Overnights: CBS’ ‘SEAL Team’ Dips to a Series Low Following Anemic ‘Million Dollar Mile’

Ratings Breakdown:
It was another Wednesday household overnight sweep for NBC care of the “Chicago” trio: “Chicago Med” (5.4 rating/10 share at 10 p.m.), “Chicago Fire” (#1 for the night: 5.6/10 at 9 p.m.) and “Chicago PD” (4.8/ 9 at 10 p.m.). Comparably, “Chicago PD” almost equaled the competition combined: “SEAL Team” on CBS (#2: series low 2.6/ 5) and ABC’s recently introduced “Whiskey Cavalier” (#3: 2.4/ 5).

The collapse of “SEAL Team” is due, no doubt, to the anemic overnight performance of week two of lead-in “Million Dollar Mile” at a fourth-place 2.2/ 4 at 9 p.m. Comparably, that dipped by 15 percent from its DOA arrival one week earlier (2.6/ 5).

Earlier in the evening on CBS was veteran “Survivor” at a consistent 4.7/ 8 (#2) in the 8 p.m. hour.

Elsewhere, soon-to-conclude “Jane the Virgin” on The CW could not compete with a mere 0.5/ 1 in the household overnights at 9 p.m. And ABC’s Wednesday 8-10 p.m. sitcom block and Fox’s drama combination of “Empire” and “Star” were at typical midweek overnight levels as follows:
