Ratings Breakdown:
In season finale news, “Survivor” on CBS concluded its 38th edition with a consistent 4.5 rating/8 share in households from 8-10:29 p.m. ET. Comparably, that was not enough to beat NBC’s competing “Chicago” trio – “Chicago Med” (5.5/10 at 8 p.m.), “Chicago Fire” (4.6/ 8 at 9 p.m.) and “Chicago PD” (4.7/ 9). But it was right on par with the year-ago season-ender, and “Survivor” could live on for years.

Elsewhere, “Whiskey Cavalier” on ABC earned its cancellation stripes with a modest 1.9/ 4 at 10 p.m. (#3). It led out of a repeat of theatrical “Toy Story 2.” Fox filled the 8 p.m. hour with “MasterChef Celebrity Family Showdown” at a 1.7/ 3 (#4), followed by the ongoing “Paradise Hotel” fizzle at a 10/ 2 (#4) at 9 p.m. And the season finale of The CW’s “Riverdale” (#5: 0.8/ 1 at 8 p.m.) led into a 0.6/ 1 for soon-to-conclude “Jane the Virgin.”
