Wednesday Ratings: NBC and CBS Share Dominance; The ‘Chicago’ Trio Rock Solid

The password at NBC was consistent, with the “Chicago” trio: “Chicago Med”, “Chicago Fire” and “Chicago PD” all off and successfully running this season as follows: 

NBC
8:00 p.m. “Chicago Med” (season finale)
Viewers: 6.32 million (#1); A18-49: 0.7 rating/6 share (tied for #1 for the night)

9:00 p.m. “Chicago Fire” (season finale)
Viewers: 6.53 million (#1 for the night); A18-49: 0.6/ 6 (#1t)

10:00 p.m. “Chicago PD” (season finale)
Viewers: 5.35 million (#1); A18-49: 0.6/ 7 (#1)

Ditto for the two-hour season premiere of CBS’ “Survivor” (Viewers: #2, 4.76 million; A18-49: #1t, 0.7/ 7 from 8-10 p.m.), which led into the season-opening installment episode of “The Amazing Race” (Viewers: #2, 2.90 million; A18-49: #2, 0.4/ 4 at 10 p.m.).

Over at ABC, the season-opening results were particularly slim across the board as follows:

Viewers: 2.01 million (#3); A18-49: 0.4/ 3 (#3)

10:00 p.m. “Big Sky” (season premiere)
Viewers: 2.21 million (#3); A18-49: 0.3/ 3 (#3)

Also opening their seasons were Fox’s non-scripted pairing of “The Masked Singer” (Viewers: #3, 3.46 million; A18-49: #3, 0.6/ 5 at 8 p.m.) and “LEGO Masters” (Viewers: #4, 1.55 million; A18-49: #3t, 0.4/ 3 at 9 p.m.). Needless to say, “The Masked Singer” is not what it used to be. 

The CW capped off this first Wednesday of the new TV season with “Stargirl” (Viewers: #5, 403,000; A18-49: 0.1/ 1 at 8 p.m.) into two repeat episodes of “World’s Funniest Animals.”
