In season premiere news, CBS summer staple “Big Brother” scored 3.69 million viewers and a 0.8 rating/8 share in adults 18-49 for a 90-minute edition (from 8-9:30 p.m. ET). In today’s multi-faceted content environment, this is a definite positive. While highly compatible, a 90-minute edition of MTV favorite “The Challenge” debuted on the Eye net with a modest 2.20 million viewers (#2) and a 0.4/ 4 in the demo (#1) from 9:30-11 p.m. This fan of these competition series, needless to say, will be watching all summer.

Also opening a new season was “Mysteries Decoded” on The CW, which barely registered with 552,000 viewers and a 0.0/ 1 in adults 18-49 in the Wednesday 8 p.m. hour. That led into two episodes (original and repeat) of “Wellington Paranormal” at 249,000 and no registered results in the demo from 9-10 p.m.

Also in originals was Fox’s pairing of “Masterchef” (Viewers: #4, 1.34 million; A18-49: #3t, 0.2/ 2 at 8 p.m.) and “So You Think You Can Dance” (Viewers: #4, 1.02 million; A18-49: #3t, 0.2/ 2 at 9 p.m.). CBS and NBC were in repeats.
