Wednesday Ratings: Positive Returns for ‘Survivor’ on CBS and ‘The Masked Singer’ on Fox; ‘Domino Masters’ Left at the Fox Starting Gate

In series premiere news, new Fox game show “Domino Masters” got off to a sluggish start with just 1.65 million viewers and a 0.4 rating/3 share in adults 18-49 — third in both categories — in the Wednesday 9 p.m. ET hour. Comparably, that dropped from the spring season-opening installment of “The Masked Singer” (Viewers: #3, 3.92 million; A18-49: #1t, 0.8/ 3 at 8 p.m.) by 2.27 million viewers and 50 percent in the demo.

Also opening a new season was CBS’ veteran “Survivor”, which was on the fast affiliate ratings’ map with 4.74 million viewers (#2) and a 0.8/ 6 in adults 18-49 (#1t) from 8-10 p.m. ET. Consider this a positive start for the ageless reality/competition series. And The CW featured the Wednesday 8 p.m. time period premiere of “The Flash” (Viewers: #5, 605,000; A18-49: #5, 0.1/ 1 at 8 p.m.), and the season premiere of the reboot of “Kung” (Viewers: #5, 625,000; A18-49: #5, 0.1/ 1 at 9 p.m.).

Elsewhere, it was dominant midweek business as usual with NBC’s “Chicago” franchise: “Chicago Med” (Viewers: #1, 6.85 million; A18-49: #1t, 0.8/ 6 at 9 p.m.), “Chicago Fire” (Viewers: #1 for the night: 6.93 million; A18-49: #1 for the night: 0.9/ 6 at 9 p.m.), and “Chicago PD” (Viewers: #1, 6.22 million; A18-49: #1, 0.8/ 7 at 10 p.m.). ABC featured encore telecasts of its two-hour sitcom block into tired drama “A Million Little Things” (Viewers: #3, 1.79 million; A18-49: #2t, 0.2/ 2 at 10 p.m.). And CBS closed the night with a repeat of freshman drama “Good Sam”, which has a minimal shot at returning next season.
