Wednesday 3/17/21 Preliminary Primetime Ratings

Total Viewers:
NBC: 6.70 million, Fox: 3.77, CBS: 1.95, ABC: 1.81, CW: 445,000

Adults 18-49:
Fox: 0.9 rating/6 share, NBC: 0.8/ 6, ABC and CBS: 0.3/ 2 each, CW: 0.1/ 1

NBC remains the network to be in total viewers care of its “Chicago” trifecta: “Chicago Med” (Viewers: 6.79 million; A18-49: 0.7 rating/5 share at 8 p.m. ET); “Chicago Fire” (Viewers: 7.19 million; A18-49: 0.8/ 6 at 9 p.m.) and “Chicago PD” (Viewers: 6.12 million; A18-49: 0.8/ 6 at 10 p.m.). Aside from a second place finish in the time period in adults 18-49 for “Chicago Med” (behind Fox’s “The Masked Singer”), NBC finished first across the board.

In the specials department was two-hour “Grammy Salute Sounds of Change”, which was left at the CBS starting gate with a mere 1.51 million viewers (#4) and a 0.2/ 2 in adults 18-49 (#4) from 9-11 p.m.

On Fox, recent competition entry “Game of Talents” (Viewers: #2, 2.73 million; A18-49: #2, 0.7/ 4 at 9 p.m.) owes any audience it has to aforementioned lead-in “The Masked Singer” (Viewers: #2, 4.82 million; A18-49: #1, 1.1/ 8 at 8 p.m.).

Elsewhere, there was no reason, no doubt, for ABC to bring “The Con” (Viewers: #2, 1.62 million; A18-49: #2t, 0.2/ 2 at 10 p.m.) back for a second season. “Tough As Nails” on CBS (Viewers: #2, 2.83 million; A18-49: #3t, 0.4/ 3 at 8 p.m.) is no “Survivor.” The CW’s combination of “Riverdale” and “Nancy Drew” do not translate via these fast affiliate ratings (see above network averages). And ABC’s 8-10 p.m. sitcom block — “The Goldbergs”, “American Housewife”, “The Conners” and “Call Your Mother” — was in repeats.
