Pakistan Origin Card (POC) is an identity card issued to citizens of Pakistani origin who have renounced their Pakistani nationality. Although a POC owner is not a Pakistani citizen, he or she is permitted to travel and stay in Pakistan without a visa as long as the POC card is valid. Individuals having dual nationality or on an employment or residency visa in a country other than Pakistan are not entitled to the Pakistan Origin Card (POC), however, they qualify for the National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP).

Types of POC:

You can apply the following types of POC:

You are eligible for POC if:

You were a Pakistani national who renounced your citizenship or You are a foreign national, married to a Pakistani citizen, have Pakistani ancestors, or have ever held Pakistani nationality. You are a foreign national whose parents or grandparents are or were Pakistanis. If you are a foreign national with Pakistani relatives (brother, sister, uncle, aunt). Except for the following, a foreigner (not born of Pakistan national/citizen parents) who marries a Pakistan national/citizen is eligible for POC issuance:

  • Is a citizen or national of India, Israel, and Taiwan? 
  • Is a citizen or national of state or country not recognized by Pakistan; and
  • Is a citizen of any enemy country?
