“The Big Bang Theory” universe could have a new occupant.

According to published reports, CBS is nearing a deal with Warner Bros. TV for a straight-to-series order on a “Young Sheldon” spinoff that focuses on the characters of Georgie (Montana Jordan) and Mandy (Emily Osment). Both CBS and Warner Bros. TV declined comment. “Young Sheldon” will be concluding this spring after seven seasons.

“Young Sheldon” executive producers Steve Holland, Steven Molaro and Chuck Lorre would be behind the spinoff series as well and the proposed Georgie and Mandy spinoff is being planned as a multi-camera comedy — unlike the single-camera “Young Sheldon.”

The “Young Sheldon” spinoff is separate from the other “Big Bang Theory” spinoff that Lorre is developing for Warner Bros. and was announced to be for Warner Bros. Discovery’s streamer, Max. There are no plot details for this proposed series, which is believed to be an hour-long series featuring a mostly new cast with potential for “Big Bang Theory” stars to appear in guest spots.
