‘Into the Badlands’ Renewed by AMC for Season Two

AMC has issued a second season pick-up to its martial arts drama, “Into the Badlands”. The series will return for 10 more episodes, slated to air on the cable in 2017.

Its first season premiered on Nov. 15, 2015 and lasted for only six episodes. Its first three episodes had the benefit of its Sunday night powerhouse lead-in, “The Walking Dead”.

“Into the Badlands” averaged 5.6 million viewers per episode (in live+7) — the third highest-rated first season in U.S. cable TV history.

The series was created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar (both from “Smallville”) and stars Daniel Wu and Marton Csokas.

“Into the Badlands” is produced by AMC Studios.
