Comedy Central Orders ‘The High Court’ with Doug Benson

15-Minute Comic Strip to Launch in 2017

Comedy Central has greenlit a 15-minute comical strip called “The High Court,” featuring comedian Doug Benson (“Getting Doug with High,” “@midnight”) presiding over the highest court in the land as he adjudicates real small claims court cases. Loosely based on Benson’s show “Getting Doug with High,” the series follows Benson as “Judge Doug” as he rules on real small claims court cases “before retiring to his chamber with a guest bailiff to get very stoned and deliberate on the matter.” Unlike Comedy Central’s other series, Benson’s show will take on the Adult Swim-style format.

Benson will exec produce with Bruce Smith, JASH’s Daniel Kellison and Propagate’s Ben Silverman, Howard Owens and Kevin Healey. Gary Mann and Daniel Wolfberg are the executives in charge of production for Comedy Central. The 15-minute strip series will be co-produced by JASH and Propagate for an early 2017 launch.
