TNT Orders ‘Snowpiercer’ Pilot from Tomorrow Studios

Proposed Series Based on 2013 Movie of the Same Name

TNT will produce a pilot for a potential drama based on 2013 science fiction film “Snowpiercer” from Tomorrow Studios. The movie takes place aboard the globe-spanning Snowpiercer train which holds the last remnants of humanity after an attempt at climate engineering in order to stop global warming has unintentionally created a new ice age. The logline for the series: Set seven years after the world has become a frozen wasteland, “Snowpiercer” will explore “class warfare, social injustice and the politics of survival” as it follows the remnants of humanity as they inhabit a gigantic, perpetually moving train that circles the globe.

Josh Friedman will serve as executive producer and writer-showrunner, along with Marty Adelstein (“Prison Break”), and Becky Clements (“Last Man Standing”). A co-production of Tomorrow Studios and Turner’s Studio T, also on board are the original film’s Bong Joon Ho, Park Chan-wook, Lee Tae-hun and Dooho Choi among its executive producers.
