  1. FROM ABC

ABC Wednesday Prime (8-11pm – 4.7 million and 1.2/5 in AD18-49): With its comedies returning for their first telecasts of the new year and the season premiere of Match Game, ABC ranked #2 on Wednesday in Adults 18-49 (1.2/5-tie) to Fox with its premiere/debut lineup (The X-Files/9-1-1).

    · Despite the increased competition on the night, each of ABC’s comedies returned even or steady after 3 weeks off with young adults: The Goldbergs (1.5/6 vs. 1.6/7), Speechless (1.1/4 vs. 1.2/5), Modern Family (1.7/6 vs. 1.7/7) and American Housewife (1.3/5 vs. 1.3/5). At 9pm, ABC’s Modern Family ranked #1 in its half-hour in Adults 18-49, tying Fox’s debut of 9-1-1.

    · At 10pm, ABC’s season premiere of Match Game shot up over its last telecast in May (on 5/14/17) by 38% in Total Viewers (3.6 million vs. 2.6 million) and by 50% in Adults 18-49 (0.9/4 vs. 0.6/2), topping its last 6 originals for its best numbers since February – since 2/22/17. Match Game tied CBS’ Criminal Minds for #2 in the hour with Adults 18-49.

    • Me too Louis that was a shocker for me with X-Files and pretty surprised at TAR and 911. I didn’t see 911 but I heard it was better than expected sort of like a Chicago Fire so it might suit people who like a good mix of procedurals and soapy storylines.

        • Yeah let me know how it is if you do, not sure if I have time to add another show but I’m still curious.

          • That is one of the main reasons I didn’t watch it last night…I already have a full tv schedule.

            • Same here my schedule is pretty much capped off right now as I had to delete episodes off my DVR from November and December because I knew I would never catch up. I’m not going to tryout The Four on FOX tonight either for that same reason.

                • Yep same here didn’t watch it and don’t regret not watching it. Same here with The Voice but I hate the constant focusing on the judges so I can’t wait for Idol’s return on ABC this March.

      • It has huge DVR playback the last time around so I guess we’ll see. I really liked the premiere! The last 5 minutes have gotten quite a reaction out of the fan base. X Files that is.

        • I heard the premiere was good so I highly doubt it slips over the next few airings and DVR will be a huge factor. It probably stays right around this range for FOX and if it does it will still be one of the highest rated shows on the network during the week.

    • I was a little shocked myself at X Files ratings. Premiere was good though and that last 5 minutes though.

I was not expecting 911 to grow out of it but I guess FOX’s marketing team must have worked some kind of magic. Beat SVU in the Demo.

      • I didn’t watch but apparently there was a big twist at the end? Fans don’t seem to be liking it.

        • Yep. Chris Carter said he had planned that since season 7 but never got around to telling it until now. I liked it. Some were triggered Lol

  2. Good week for NBC so far especially at 10pm with the Chicago shows as NBC is lucky to have them.

      • Yep it sure is with TIU back next week as Tuesday could be a monster for them. This weekend looks stacked as well with figure skating Olympic trials on Friday night, NFL Playoffs on Saturday, and Golden Globes on Sunday.

  3. I read FOX network’s comments regarding their future. They claim it won’t change much but we’ll see. I can see them pairing with another company like Sony, Warner Bros or even Lionsgate to produce shows for them.

If they decide to go all reality TV and cheap junk shows to save money when the merger deal is final, FOX won’t be much on my radar anymore. If any at all.

In other news, they renewed the Gifted. I Hope they renew Lucifer too (it is produced my Warner Bros).
