2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics Day 8 TV and Announcer Schedule

For the first time ever at a Winter Olympics, NBC will broadcast Olympic primetime competition live across all time zones. Whether daytime, primetime or “Primetime Plus” (formerly the late night show), all U.S. viewers will be able to watch NBC’s coverage of the XXIII Olympic Winter Games from PyeongChang, South Korea, at the same time.

NBCOlympics.com will offer live streaming of the NBC broadcast network, including primetime and Primetime Plus, and NBCSN will air live primetime coverage, both firsts at a Winter Games.

Highlights of Day 8 Events:

South Korea could win both golds in the women’s 1500m and men’s 1000m finals of short track speed skating. Seo Yi-Ra is the reigning men’s 1000m world champion; also competing is Korean-turned-Russian Viktor Ahn with a chance to become Short Track’s most decorated Olympian with a ninth overall medal. Choi Min-Jeong and Shim-Suk Hee ranked Nos. 1 and 2 in the women’s 1500m this season.

In the men’s giant slalom. American alpine skier Ted Ligety — Mr. GS — is the reigning Olympic champion who on Jan. 28 made his first podium in two years after a series of injuries. Austrian Marcel Hirscher — the world’s best Alpine skier seven years running — is favored to take his first Olympic title.

In Sochi, the U.S. notched its third-ever Winter Olympic podium sweep by dominating men’s slopestyle in freestyle skiing in its Olympic debut. Gold medalist Joss Christensen did not make the PyeongChang team in a comeback from a torn ACL, but silver medalist Gus Kenworthy and bronze medalist Nick Goepper are back and among the podium contenders.

Jacqueline Loelling, 22, seeks Germany’s first Olympic gold in Skeleton a year after becoming the sport’s youngest female world champion.

In Ski Jumping, the men’s individual large hill final could see a duel between reigning world champion Stefan Kraft of Austria and defending Olympic gold medalist Kamil Stoch of Poland.

Susan Dunklee, who last year became the first American woman to climb a Biathlon world championships podium by taking silver in the 12.5km mass start, brings contender status to that event in PyeongChang.

Team USA also could make history by capturing its first-ever Olympic medal in a women’s Cross-County event, as Jessie Diggins and co. have podium potential in the 4x5km relay.

The following are the events including dates, start times, TV networks and announcers. All times Eastern unless otherwise noted.
